V_Museum: Platform Moscow brings young Russian artists to Berliner Festspiele

This year’s Berliner Festspiele features a RusImport program, which, in addition to Chekhov productions, includes the launch of V_Museum: Platform Moscow.

The virtual museum platform was developed by the Sputnik Art Foundation in Moscow, and has appeared in various iterations across the globe. This interactive exhibition will allow viewers to select between the works of eight young artists, all between the ages of 25 and 35, who have been specifically selected by curator Christina Steinbrecher.

Artists on view include Olga Kroytor and MishMash (both participants in the past Ural Biennale this September), as well as Taisia Korotkova, whose medically-inspired paintings revisit tropes of Socialist Realism, with a creepy, sci-fi spin.

On December 1, Steinbrecher will participate in a roundtable titled “Self-Determination: Young Artists in Russia,” with critic Valentin Diaconov and Korotkova, moderated by Astrid Mania. More details about this discussion can be found here.

More information on the exhibition itself can be found here.
