Curators Kateryna Taylor and Helen Lucy Phelby have put out an open call for Kyiv Sculpture Project, a festival of public art taking place in the city’s M. Gryshko New Botanical Garden from June 2- July 2, 2012.
Founded in 1935, the park comprises over 330 acres of land in the Pechersk district of the city. The sculpture park will spread over 2 hectares of that area, including an avenue of birches.
While Kyiv has previously been the site of major festivals (including the genre-crossing Gogolfest), this is the first to be dedicated exclusively to sculpture. To this end, KSP has partnered with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
