Independent Curators International (ICI) – an innovative association that connects independent curators from all over the globe with exhibition spaces and venues – has finally opened a permanent space in New York.
The Curatorial Hub – a 2500 square foot facility in Tribeca – will serve as the center for ICI’s activities, hosting lectures, round tables and conferences, while also offering screening facilities and the ICI’s reference library. Curators are invited to use the space as a temporary operational base when bringing projects to New York.
In addition to networking on behalf of independent curators (the website contains a catalogue of available exhibition projects for interested institutions), ICI has recently started its own journal, as part of its Research initiative. Entitled Dispatch, the journal showcases non-visual aspects of contemporary curating.
Visit ICI’s site to get involved or find out more, or check out their Twitter feed, for up-to-the-minute reports from the expanded field.
